Bethel Village transforms the former Bethel AME Church site into an affordable senior community in the heart of Harrisburg. Repeat aerial routes and milestone films preserve the full arc, from the untouched site through framing, enclosure, finished interiors, and its completed place in the city.
Building the frame
Concrete cores establish the vertical anchors while prefabricated wall and floor systems accelerate the structure around them. Aerial views make the sequencing legible, from crane reach and material staging to the building's relationship with its tight urban edges.
Construction milestones
May 7, 2023
The first flight establishes the site, neighboring homes, major streets, and the Harrisburg skyline. It becomes the fixed reference point for every stage that follows.
August 12, 2023
Early grading and site preparation reveal the future building footprint. Close obliques show street-level access while overhead views document the work inside a compact city block.
January 27 + May 1, 2024
Concrete circulation cores rise first, followed by panelized walls and floor systems. By May, the building's full length, courtyard edge, and street presence are unmistakable.

May 1 + July 22, 2024
Repeated angles reveal the change that daily site activity can hide. The frame gains mass, the roofline settles into place, and the building begins to hold the corner as a finished piece of the neighborhood.
October 31, 2024 · Exterior enclosure
Brick, dark cladding, green bays, and a completed roof transform the exposed frame into a recognizable residential building. The autumn flight records both the architectural detail and the project's new relationship with the surrounding streets.

March 18, 2025 · Completed community
The final visit moves beyond enclosure into a complete residential community. Finished elevations, accessible entries, new interiors, and clear neighborhood connections close the visual record that began with an open block in May 2023.
